Unravelling: Ways of Seeing My Self

Susannah will be teaching a dynamic new evening class at the Bristol Folk House this autumn, using the camera to explore self image and how we interact with the world around us.

Beginning with our hands and feet, on this six-week course we will photograph our bodies in their daily environment, exploring the space we inhabit and the objects and people that make up our lives. Using photography to teach us how to see and appreciate our physical form, these are not self-portraits in the traditional sense - they are personal images that honour you and your world. Photography projects will be undertaken outside of class time, to be shared with the group each week. This course is for women only and no previous photography experience is necessary.

A note on cameras:  any type of camera can be used, whether a compact or SLR digital camera, film camera, Polaroid, toy camera or even a disposable camera.

Fee: £53.40 (concessions available)

Venue: The Folk House, 40a Park Street, Bristol, BS1 5JG

This six-week course will run twice in the autumn term 2008, starting on the 18th September (Thursdays 6-8pm) and the 4th November (Tuesdays 6-8pm).
